Description DESCRIPTION The box is specially designed for bat species that inhabit buildings. Built-in bat boxes are most likely to succeed as a dwelling place for common pipistrelle and soprano pipistrelle bats. In addition, the boxes can also be used by noctules, brown long-eared bats and Daubenton's bats. INSTALLATION This bat installation box is designed for facades that are finished with facade cladding such as timber frame construction, stone strips, etc. The supplied boxes can be easily coupled to each other on the construction site. All elements have expansion walls on both sides and the top. On the side where two boxes are to be coupled, the expansion wall must be removed. Removing an expansion wall is best done with a hammer and chisel. Once both expansion walls have been removed, the two boxes can be placed against each other, with the resulting openings against each other. Place the box with the entrance hole at the desired location(s) in the facade. Ensure that the entrance hole is sawn out during the facade finishing, so that it is level with or slightly outside the facade finishing. This built-in box can be placed in any desired wind direction. Variation of multiple boxes in height and wind direction gives the greatest chance of success. Maintain a minimum installation height of 3 meters. Higher is better. Do not build boxes directly above doors or windows. Ensure a free flight path and never place stones in or under artificial light. MAINTENANCE Built-in cabinets are often difficult to access. Still, it's a good idea to check after a while if the cabinet is still clean inside. Often, contamination occurs due to, for example, moths and other insects. With a flexible long brush, these contaminants can be removed. Note: Always check carefully before cleaning if there are no bats present in the box!
