Description The nesting box has a double bottom for insulation. Extra insulation can be achieved by placing hay in the box. INSTALLATION The box is best placed in a shrub-rich zone under a pile of branches, garden waste, stones or blackberries or buried in a berm. The layer on top of the nesting box should be at least 50 cm high. When installing, it may be useful to place a piece of PVC pipe with a diameter of 6cm and a length of approximately 50cm at the entrance. The pipe points, as it were, into the pile of branches, showing the way to the entrance and thus stimulating visits by the martens. Applying fish oil to the nesting box can serve as an additional lure. It is important that the box remains dry and is draft-free, with the opening facing south or towards a sheltered side. MAINTENANCE Because martens are susceptible to chemical products, the box should not be treated with any other product.
