The ideal habitat is mature mixed forests or coniferous forests, not too close to open areas. MAINTENANCE The nest box is used to raise young, but also as a hiding place in bad weather and as a resting place during the day. Therefore, it is difficult to choose a suitable moment to clean the nest box. The best period is in September or October, but always check whether there are no martens present.
